I wanted a watch for heart rate only. This works better then I expected. Readings are accurate and easy to see in bright sun. It offers a lot more features which I have no interest in. I only wear when I do my walk. Perfect for me. A lot of reviewers talk about the band, after a couple weeks use still seems fine, but I do not wear it full time.

Bought it for myself (Mom) but tried it on my son and it looks cool on him. It also counts steps.
Waterproof watch; he went to the beach countless times wearing it.
and TIMEX quality is outstanding.

I bought this for the HR monitor and that is not super reliable.
The indiglo ceased functioning.
When it did work, the indiglo function overrides the HR result, so you cannot see HR at night. Ridiculous.
When I briefly dipped in the lake with it twice this past week, it began malfunctioning. You are supposed to be able to snorkle but not dive.
I cannot re-set the time/date function and it malfunctions when you try to re-set features.
Digit 4 is partially displaying, it flashes all 2’s or 5’s and will not re-set.
I also agree the band turns grey.
The watch lasted 5 months and no longer useful.
Don’t be like me, pay attention to reviews and save your money!

Arrived with a snap that had been cut clear off. Total hassle to have to return

The watch has quite a unique feature of a step counter among LCD digital watches. I know this feature exists on many smart watches, but that comes with a need to charge it every day, while this one is powered by a single button CR2032 battery that needs a replacement once a year or even a couple of years.
That was the reason why we wanted it and no other brand provides such a feature in the line of lady’s watches besides Timex.

The gold around the rim started chipping almost immediately. The heart rate function was difficult to use vs a smart watch. It was hard to set in general. Randomly kicked the bucket today after owning for 10 months. Battery still works but can’t set the time. The band held up nice probably the best part of the whole product

The sole reason why I got this was for it’s ease of battery replacement. Battery life should be as long as they claim, 1 year, since it doesn’t have a lot of smart features. I just needed it for the step counting.
Unfortunately this watch has a terrible implementation for the step count. It counts steps if I merely shake my arm, even arm swings standing in place gets tracked. It counts your arm movement while driving, brushing teeth, you name it. Totally unreliable. I’ve heard of bad step counters on much more costly smartwatches from Suunto so this isn’t a rare issue. I should have gone with the Vivofit 4 instead but I really wanted a full display watch face with day, month and time infographic.
The heart rate monitor is hit or miss, when it does work though the readings agree with my dedicated finger tip SpO2 device. The problem is sometimes it just doesn’t give any readings. It gets tiring to repeat the process to the point your finger starts to ache. Yet another poorly implemented feature.
The watch is fine as a simple lap count, stop watch but then again this watch would be overpriced compared to what’s available for sport watches that will do just fine.

As I’ve said before, this is a great watch for the price. I like it because it is smaller than my last one. The tan lines aren’t so noticeable. The timing is accurate, and it has everything I wanted in the watch and nothing I didn’t want.

HR is a joke! The HR monitor is the only reason I bought it. I don’t like having to charge fitness trackers all the time and only care about my HR during workouts and this thing is awful!!! Do not buy if you want a more reliable HR sensor.
Edit:
I’ve messed with the watch trying a million different ways to check HR. Found the manual on the internet and it has tips for taking the heart rate. One tip said make sure the wrist and finger aren’t dry. So I dampened my wrist and finger and it works better and quicker. Still complicated because I’m not always around water and really don’t want to be licking my finger to take my HR (yuck germs). The watch is pretty and does all the other Ironman functions I’ve always loved about timex ironmans. The added step count is pretty cool, but I just use that as a reference because no pedometer is completely accurate. So I bumped the stars up to 3. Like I said having to make sure the wrist and finger are damp is not the most convenient thing. It’s ok, if you don’t care about having HR. I’m keeping it, but it won’t be my first choice to workout with.

This watch broke within 6 months of purchase: it periodically resets itself to 12:00AM JAN 01 without touching anything. It was still under warrantee from Timex, and I sent it back to them. I have to chase Timex constantly to get a response, and I have heard nothing from them for the past 3 weeks. I am very disappointed with this supposedly “good” brand. If I could give zero stars, I would.

This watch is great for what I was looking for. I like to keep track of my steps without feeling “connected” all the time. No bluetooth is great!
One disappointment is that the backlight doesn’t work. I got the watch yesterday, set it up and all works great, except for the backlight.
I really want everything to work, so I may return it for another one.

I wanted a gadget that could measure my heart rate when I exercise, but I did not want one of those fancy things that needs to be paired with a cell phone, has a hundred extra features, and is difficult to learn to use. This one does what I wanted. Took a few minutes to set up (I found a tutorial on YouTube) and that was it! It shows the time and date, and if you press and hold a button it shows heart rate. (I think it can also count steps but I haven’t used that feature yet.)
