Mantiene chiusa e quindi pulita la tettarella. Immancabile!!!

This is a great addition to any Camelbak user who want to have some cover for their bite valve. I do a lot of outdoor activities, some consisting of very dirty environments. This cheap addition to your camelbak will allow you to prevent small debris from getting into your bit valve. It is very easy to install and has a great, tight fit so that it will not fall off during whatever activity you are doing.

    Pros:
    Easy to install
    Easy to clean
Tight fit to both your bite valve and tight fit between the mount and valve cover.
Sturdy build – has not failed me yet after going on many hiking and mountain biking trips.
Not too expensive considering the quality

    Cons:
None that I can see or have experienced

*Please be aware of the compatibility of this item for other Camelbak products. If your Camelbak is not installed with a Big Bite Valve, you may need to look for a different cover. This item does not fit on some mil-spec Camelbaks that have different styled valves.

As long as I snapped it closed appropriately, it was great keeping dust off my bite valve on a trek in Nepal. A few times I didn’t “snap” it closed but I was so happy I had this, because our trek was dusty beyond anything I’d imagined. Getting it on was a pain, like other reviews mentioned, but still worth it. I used the hand sanitizer method and that helped.

    works great

Seriously. Why do we pay so much for such quality in a product, only to leave out something as important as a valve cover? That’s like buying a Hydro Flask without a lid?

Besides that, it was very easy to install. It worked for me to take the silicone mouthpiece off, put it in this cover, align the base of the mouthpiece onto the valve, wiggle them down, and pinch them both and push down once its down the valve far enough till it feels secure. Doesn’t feel like it’s going anywhere unless I take it off.

As others have said, it’s nice to have peace of mind knowing my water source is kept clean. Seriously Camelbak, add the $6 to the price of your packs to include this. Cheaper alternatives do.

I realized I needed a dust cover for my Antidote 100 reservoir after wearing my Camelbak Trinity in an unlit port-a-potty at night while helping my young child to go to the bathroom. Unfortunately the tube wasn’t secured in the clip at the time and was flinging around as I tried to negotiate the tight space. Shudder. As you can imagine, I wanted a cover should I ever find myself in a similar situation. I contacted Camelbak customer service who told me that the Big Bite Valve cover would work for the Antidote. It attaches fine but it dribbles water even when fully closed. I didn’t have this problem prior to installing the cover. I contacted Camelbak customer service and was told that it is dribbling because it was not designed for the Antidote. I am rather exasperated and would have preferred to know this on the front end when I contacted them to ask prior to purchasing. At this point, I will still keep the cover because I prefer dribbly mess to dirty bite valve. Since the Antidote is their new improved reservoir model, I hope they make a cover/accessories that actually fit & work like they are supposed to.

*I’m revising my review. I happened to be watching a video review of the Camelbak Aventura 18 that also has the Antidote 100 reservoir. I found that the Big Bite valve actually has a hydrolock that will prevent the dribbling issue. I’m more astonished that none of the included tags, labels, marketing materials mentioned that fact. It does dribble more with the cover so that hydrolock is going to be key. I also agree with other reviewers that this should be standard not an add-on.

For me, it’s a necessity. I don’t want to be spitting out dust, dirt, dry grass, and other elements when hiking and setting my backpack on the floor. Wish it was included with the camelbak when purchased.

Installation takes awhile. I remove it every time when washing my camelbak. You need to keep twisting the mouthpiece left and right when installing with the dust cover. Eventually the rubber tube will slowly slide straight down. Frustrating, but well worth it. No instructions were provided. Someone on YouTube said to use hand sanitizer as a lube to slip the mouthpiece back on. I didn’t do that. I don’t want hand sanitizer on my mouthpiece. I was able to do it dry for storage purposes.

Easy to fit and works well protecting my bite valve. A great addition to my camelbak

Cierra muy bien, pero es muy complicado colocar bien la boquilla una vez colocado la tapa esta.

I bought this to cover my camelback mouth piece because it’s honestly gross to imagine how many things it touches just being exposed ?! I think these should automatically come with the bladder if we’re being honest… but it’s a must. It was cheaper here than at REI.

Really appreciated having this bite valve cover because the tube ended up in the dirt so many times but the valve stayed clean. It wasn’t easy to put on, but it wasn’t difficult once I figured it out. First take the bite valve off, then put the cover on in between the tubing and the valve. Wiggle the bite valve on maybe a few millimeters, just so the rubber is on around the whole circumference of the tubing and not caught on anything. The trick is to then firmly grasp the bite valve and the cover as if it was one solid piece and twist the whole thing back and forth while pushing inwards until it’s flush and everything’s in place. After that it felt secure and the valve stayed clean while the cover collected all the nasty dirt and dust that I didn’t want in my mouth.

The cap is the best thing as while on treks and trails there is lot of dust in the air. As the mouth-piece is exposed to all this, it can be harmful at times. This cover helps to keep the exposed mouth-piece protected. The cover/cap is done good. It has a snap fit for closure.
But like most of the users said, it could have been less bulky-er.
Opening and closing the cap, while on the move, is sometimes annoying as it needs both hands to snap-shut it.
Installing the cap can be bit of a hassle. You have to pull-out the mouth-piece from the tube, put the cover’s lower part and put the mouth piece back again. Need to be very careful while putting it back, as if the mouth-piece is not fixed properly, it might tend to leak.
I think, the cover could have been part of the backpack for some extra bucks.
Overall, it’s a must have for every water-bladder.
