These shorts are absolutely fantastic for the activities I primarily engage in: 1) hiking/backpacking, 2) climbing/bouldering, 3) work outs, and 4) weekends around the house. I’ve spent quite a bit of time trying to find shorts that don’t hang about my knees like man capris, yet aren’t 1970 NBA short. Despite the 5″ rating on these, they aren’t as short as what you might be expecting. I’m 5’10 and they hit just above my knees.
They’re made of a synthetic fabric that isn’t at all uncomfortable, is lightweight, and dries fast. I like the liner because I can go commando, swimming, etc. The liner is a non-issue when I wear boxer briefs. It’s nice on a backpacking trip or hike to be able to jump into a creek or lake for a dip and have them dry quickly. They have a drawstring in the elastic waistband which I don’t usually need to tie, but if I go swimming I do.
The three pockets are fantastic. The front pockets are great because they are deep enough for a phone, wallet, keys, etc. On a lot of shorts in this price range you get pockets that aren’t deep enough to hold a pea, much less something valuable. The zippered pocket on the back is really nice when you want to be extra sure to secure something and is also big enough for a phone or slim wallet.
If these shorts have a weakness at this price point, I’m not sure what it is. I’ve experienced no issues with fit, quality, or durability. They’re comfortable. I now own three pairs and wish I had more.

Like running in these shorts but the side pockets dont zip closed. my previous order did. also the small back pocket is too small for my phone. How do I order the same shorts with side zippered pockets?

I’ve had these running shorts for a little over two years now, running perhaps 3-4 times a month with these. I cut the liner out because I prefer to use Adidas running underwear. The liner material is so soft that I’m able to wear the mutilated shorts with no chafing. Anyway these are comfortable, ultra lightweight and they wick moisture well. The fabric and materials don’t seem very durable, but they’ve held up for several years without anything tearing. Elastic is still snappy (I handwash running clothes). Perhaps with heavier use or machine washing they’d break down more, but for my purposes at least, excellent value for the price!

These are my son’s favorite run shorts. We live in South Texas and it’s HOT running here 3/4 of the year. These are very lightweight, great material! My son is 6′ 1″ and these are a good length for him.

Finally some shorts with just the right length (the 5 inches version). When standing up, it ends 10cm above my knee. Perfect for sports and casual wear. The fabric is very thin but not fragile. It is lightweight, soft (almost silky) and feels great. At first the elastic felt too tight around the waist, but after a couple hours it was fine and has remained the same since. Great shorts for the price. I love them!

Nice idea with a major miss on execution. The fabric is nice and light, the pockets are a key reason I selected these, but the liner is just not cut correctly. The liner is so baggy I’d need to wear something else under these short for me to use them for any kind of activity.
