I started using this when I was sick of losing my stride carrying a water bottle. Using a bottle gets really awkward if you’re running low on liquid and you have to do an exaggerated tilt to get the final drops out.

Using this Camelbak allows me to bring more water than I can usually finish and I’m able to place the straw in a way where I just slightly turn my head to take a sip; much like a running hamster (with the same body type too!)

I’ve used these things in Iraq and the thick nylon ones will last a lifetime. These smaller ones are just like wearing the bladder directly on your back without much in the way. The little pocket barely fits an iPhone X with case but that’s just height-wise; it can fit extra stuff like gels slotted behind a phone. I feel like this can easily go inside a middle pack pocket without adding much size.

The fit takes some getting used to, but I like that it sits high on your back. I do like the others and turn it upside-down to let the excess air out so it doesn’t slosh around, other times that I forgot to do this, it’s a good alarm to let the slower runners know to make way.

Overall this is a great tool to add to your fitness routine without messing with your stride or regular “get up and go” regiment.

    I loved it!

  3. Stela

Muito boa, mas esquenta um pouco a água no sol por ser preta

I love the color and it generally works very well but sometimes I have issues with leaks.

Bought for an 8 year old runner. It’s slightly large for a child but he manages. We fill
It with water and ice and it’s still quite cool after his long runs close to 2 hours. Most important for me is the high visibility out on the rural roads. It’s a bright color for sure.

Ligerito y excelente gran capacidad de 1.5 lts
Espacio pequeño para guardar las llaves del coche.

It’s a compact backpack with a great sized bladder. It is easy to use and very lightweight, even when full of water. The lid is a bit touchy so be careful when screwing it back on as it may not catch every thread and could leak. I recommend doing a leak check once the lid is on to make sure it’s secure. Pro-tip: freeze when not in use so it prevents bacteria growth.

I would gove this a 4.75 out of 5 if I could. Received this item over the past weel and on the weekened, tested it out on a 17 mile Urban hike (with partial jogging) from Virginia into D.C. for some sightseeing. Camelbak is a namebrand that has been around since before my Marine Corps days. In fact, the Marine Corps issued Camelbacks back in 2006 and I STILL have that one…so the quality they are known for is present in this model.

These are my very small but present exceptions. The volume of water is intentionally small (50oz which is almost 1.5 liters), not bad although likely not intended for an 8-hour urban hike, so consider your particular water-intake needs vs what you want to tackle. I think I overdid it.
#2 the zipper compartment on the bottom is very small….but with the bladder filled, it becomes even tighter. With the bladder full, I was able to squeeze one key+fob, a debit card, 4 Tums tablets in a sandwich bag, a 41/2″ Mophie battery cell (which is not small) to recharge my cell phone (which I carried in my hand), AND a coiled 3.5 foot cable…so come to think of it, I squeezed a LOT in there….which made me go test an iPhone10 in there as I was writing this review. Nope, iPhone10 will not fit, even with an empty bladder, but that’s still not bad.
#3 the way the straps are shaped under the arm pits and how they connect to the pack kind of makes the entire pack ride up a bit on your upper back, which aesthetically can make you feel like you look a little awkward with this tiny turtle bump on your upper back. If you dont care so much about appearance, then it’s not an issue. As I emptied the bladder, the pack seemed to relax down more.
Otherwise, this pack fits REALLY snug, which is what you want when you are jogging/hiking. Once you buckled the chest buckle, the bounce of a full bladder while jogging is quite minimal, even for 1/5 liters. The flap that comes over the bladder mouth is very secure and the easy fill access to the cap is a godsend, I am still testing for cap leaks, not 100% sure yet.

I bought this hydration pack for work and have worn it 5 days a week for the last 3 years, and it is bullet proof! I walk 10 miles a day at my work and need water all the time. Setting down a water bottle wasn’t cutting it because I’d never make it back to take a drink of water. The CamelBak HydroBak is perfect for walking and drinking while i work and is slim enough that I don’t even know it’s there. This review may sound staged but it’s not. I just recently bought this pack again and just cleaned up my old one for hikes in the future. Thank you Camelbak, I’ve been with you for 25 years and you still make a great product.

I used this on my solo hiking trip through Arizona’s caves and caverns. I also hiked to several vortex locations in the crazy AZ heat. It was a great companion and a must have. It packs easily as it is very small when it is empty. I packed for 3 months in only a carryon luggage and it fit just fine in my bags, without taking up too much room. It holds a lot of water and is easy to wear and use. It’s made for these types of trips, as the pockets and straps all made perfect sense. When you want to drink, you bite the tube to suck out water. This prevents you from having leakage this wasting water. A great buy and worth having.

  11. Sugar and Spice

I have bought several of these over past 10 yrs and because the Amazon ” price was right” I decided on this one. Must admit, design improvements such as much larger fill hole, much improved locking system ( so NO LEAKS), minimalist feel and bite valve at correct height ( even though I switched tube to left side) it still came out perfect. Since there are always many questions…I will answer in advance. Small pocket (see pic 4) only big enough for keys…50 ounces of water is plenty..it weighs practically nothing, fits in the small of your back and you don’t even feel it. Water does NOT taste plasticky whatsoever. You can even put ice in it..then add yr. water..and it stays cold for a long time. Just an excellent product with unbeatable value.

Gutes Produkt.
