I started to take my fitness seriously and bought this watch mainly to track my swims and collect data. I chose the forerunner because had enough functionality to expand into other sports such as running and cycling. So far it has been extremely accurate in terms of counting laps, stroke count etc. I has only been off once by one lane and I swim about 3 times a week. And I haven’t tried out the other sports functions.

The band is nice and doesn’t chaff, the 46mm size faces isn’t too big on me, even though I have pretty small wrist for a dude. And the battery life is great. I went two weeks without charging the thing. I have been pretty happy with it and don’t regret my purchase. My only complaint is the screen is pretty dim even when it is lit up. Though if you have a bigger budget I would recommend getting an upgraded model for a better screen. It is totally workable, but you get what you pay for.

I really am enjoying this watch. I’ll start off by saying it I used to have an Apple watch but no longer have an iPhone so I was looking for an alternative. I’ve used Fitbit and apple watches and feel they are accurate at tracking things like heart rate and GPS. This watch feels the most accurate out of both of those. The Garmin app isn’t as pretty and easy to use as Fitbit but the quality and information is so much better. Also the customization of this watch is insane. From multiple backgrounds to the way you can set up what information you want to see during any given workout is awesome. As you can tell by my watch face there is a great amount of information just by looking at the first screen and more if you scroll around. This is the 46mm case size and I really think it’s the perfect balance between being able to see the information and not being too bulky. Obviously the tranflective display is not as pleasing as an AMOLED display like and apple watch, galaxy watch, pixel watch, or Garmins own venu or epix watches but it honestly is not that bad. Also I’ve heard of bad backlight reviews on the Garmin watches where the screen looks washed out and blue when the backlight is on and I think I got a good one. It’s almost been two weeks and I’m still at 67% battery life. I have yet to swim with the watch but it feels like good quality and the gps has been accurate on my runs. I was thinking of getting a Fenix 6 since they are much cheaper now but the features and less bulkiness of this Garmin Forerunner 255 sold me. The gray color is okay but I might end up going with a different band style and color in the future. The video taken with the backlight on is with the brightness at 20%. Take your fitness goals to the next level and get this watch!

Great build quality, highly accurate tracking and the Garmin connect app is amazing for analyzing and planning your fitness. Phenomenal battery life!
I like the lower resolution screen compared to the amoled screens because it’s easier to read in the sun and uses less battery.

This watch was a gift for my husband and he LOVES it.
It’s has a bazillion features and is highly accurate. Super easy to use and comfortable to wear.
The only issue at first was that the charging cable didn’t seem to fit in nicely (was not easy to connect) but that has improved over time and meanwhile, Garmin went ahead and sent out a new cable (complimentary) which is now still in the package. Great customer service.
Couldn’t be happier with this item.

Thanks to the seller for the timely delivery, the watch works well, I am very satisfied. After that, if I buy another watch, I will only buy a Garmin and a newer model.

    Great smart health watch.

son is hard enduro rider he wanted something to track his health performance as well as gps tracking for trails, this ticks all the boxes. easy to navigate within the app and the watch itself, comfortable breathable watch strap, its overall A really great watch and the battery dosnt need charging for days. I don’t have a Garmin watch and have to charge mine daily and it dosnt give me as much health information as this one does. my next smart watch will be one of these. highly recommend

I have been enjoying using my new Forerunner 255 as much or more than when I got my first Garmin, a Forerunner 235.
While the specs indicate is is bigger and heavier, it FEELs more comfortable and lighter.
I like the new features and many new activities. great watch!

I have been a long time smart watch user, first purchasing a Samsung gear watch sometime in 2017. That watch was terrible, and I realized having notifications on my wrist is a TERRIBLE idea. I only wore that watch for a year or two before moving to the cheapest Fitbit in 2019 and then a fitbit Charge HR in 2021.

The whole time I was with Fitbit I did not even realize they were subscription based, I had a free year with my first one and I got some extension on it although I cant remember why. With the Charge HR the subscription suddenly was only a few months.

Using the Charge HR I started getting into running and tracking my runs, and the Fitbit NEVER looked the same as my phone by a wide margin, even with GPS supposedly on the device. My heart rate would fluctuate wildly and the data was not useful at all. Eventually my Charge HR subscription ran out and I practically threw the thing away that day.

Garmin is awesome, accurate, well made, great battery life I could go on and on. For running or tracking any activity, its the best I have ever used by a long shot. I highly recommend this for anyone who is looking to up their fitness game and track long term health trends. The app was not the best but recently had an update and has (I think) a better layout which makes reading data easier.

So far it is amazing! Have had it for about a month now and I immediately signed to Garmin connect and choose a trainer for a half marathon (all free and included). Love having all my workouts automatically show up on my watch. It does everything for you, for stride work it it starts when you need to run and when you do recovery. Love just having to concentrate on running. It has so many different data points, that if you are a data nerd you’ll be in heaven. I am currently running 5 times a week and over 30 miles, with a long run that is about an hour and a half long, I only charge the watch once every 7 days. It is incredible

  12. Marcos

The watch is really helpful in tracking your progress as your fitness improves. I like the fact that I can monitor my average pace during runs so that I know I am not going to slow or to fast. The suggested workouts from the watch are interesting, I started a training plan for a half marathon using the phone app training coach. I only use the watch during running, so I can’t say anything about the swimming or cycling features the watch offers. To conclude, after two months, I can say that I had a great experience and it was worth the investment.
