I find this pack well made. I have been using it about once a week for 4 months and I have not seen any sign of problems except the bladder which developed a leak. I contacted the company through Amazon and they replaced the bladder quickly.
The pack is comfortable due to an adequate amount of shoulder padding, a chest strap and a waist strap. The waist strap is particularly useful for keeping the drinking hose from flopping around.
It has enough room to store the things from your packets as well as emergency items such as a poncho, knife and rope and an energy bar or three.
Also, the insulated water compartment keeps the water at a good temperature (I think it would handle a larger bladder than 2L) and the hose works well.
I would definitely buy it again.

Got this for my daughter for her Cub Scout trips and camp outs. It has been perfect for her needs and made want to drink enough water. She loves how cool it keeps the water with the hose cover. now i have to get one for my wife.

This is a must for anyone who likes to hike, the water stays generally cold and can store more than what I initially thought, but it also has space for extra bottles or hiking gear you may need!

If they send me a replacement bladder I will change this rating to a 5. (EDIT – the did.) The pack is beautifully made. Construction looks excellent. But the beautiful instructions SEEM to stop at the bottom of the first side. Step 1 put the bladder in. Step 2 thread the tube thru the strap. Step 3 Enjoy.
So I look at it and think “hmmm, got to get that tube attached to the bladder”. Look at it. Look at the bladder. Decide it looks a lot like a salad dressing bottle top that needs the tab lifted, so lift the tab. It popped off and I cannot get it back on. The tube goes in but it doesn’t latch. (EDIT – the replacement tube just pops in and automatically locks.)
At some point the instructions get flipped over (maybe even by accident, I don’t know) and AHA – we were not done and ready to enjoy as step 3 indicated. The tab is the lock and release. I can see how it fit in, but I cannot get the tab back on.
If I had just barged into it without looking at the instructions I would say my fault. But I followed the instructions, which seemed to end at the bottom of the front side. I don’t think I even knew the back side wasn’t blank.
I have not found a way to contact Mothybot so resorting to this hoping they will take notice. It is a beautiful well-designed and made pack. Just the instructions are misleading and seem to have resulted in loss of use since I can’t get the clip back on.
I bought it in July and tried it on – very satisfied. But went to use it first time today (September), so out of the 30 day return policy.
EDIT – the new bladder arrived today. I have not actually USED the pack, but have tried it on and find it very comfortable. I love the pockets!! One on each of the waistbands (about 6 x 3), a mesh pocket on the outside of the back (about 8 x 5), the bungies on the upper outer back, and inside the back pocket a slip-in pocket (about 8 x 9), a zippered pocket (about 8 x 7), and the full height pocket (about 8 x 14). Of course you can’t stuff a ton of things in these pockets, but they make things really easy to find and retrieve.
If I hadn’t had the problem with the instructions, on first appraisal I would have looked to see if there were more than 5 stars to give, and now after putting the new bladder in and looking more closely at it, I would give it a 10 if that was an option.

This is great, I loved it. I had 3 days of mountain school and I know I was going to get thirsty with the hikes at the same time, my hands to be free from carrying a bottle. This kept my water cold for a couple hours, it h as various pockets which I could put an small first aid kit, pocket knife, a note pad and pencil, and nice rocks I would fine along the hike.
Definitely, this made mountain school an amazing experience.

I bought this to take hiking at Zion and Bryce and it worked great. Lightweight put holds a good amount of needed items plus the water. Very easy and convenient to use.

First off, I LOVE this backpack. I hunted for ages on Amazon and ended up buying this one. It is the perfect size for a mini day pack and have been wearing it nonstop for 2 weeks! I know this pack says water resistant but the first thing I did was spray it down with a water resistant can from walmart. The waist and check clips are awesome and feels super secure. I live in Hawaii and this is the most ideal pack Of. All. Time.
Oh, I’m also really happy with the outside net pocket. Makes for an easy to grab like phone or sunglasses.
The CONS ~
1. The zippers started fraying right after opening the box. It’s not a big deal but was suprising.
2. The inside cooler material doesn’t completely cover that large pocket. The sides and bottom is the thin green material as shown in the photo. I took a photo of the inside & outside with a cold can pressed up against it.
3. The headphone slot is something I dont like as I know water will get in if it starts to rain. I’ll probably patch it just in case I get caught in some weather.
The photo looks like a bright green…dont worry, it’s a really nice dark olive color.
