I really like these shorts. The compression shorts underneath fit on me perfectly and stays put. It also allows air to breathe through making things comfortable. The shorts are kind of short on my leg meaning they’re up high which my wife says looks good. The materials are high quality and feel really nice and again they look really nice. I’ve been very happy with these so far, they’re great for any sort of workout activity.
Oh and there is a drawstring that works well if you want to make sure they stay tight to your waist.

I normally go for size small but chose medium in these shorts and am glad I did. They fit comfortably and I think my normal size would be a bit tight/small. I’m 5’9″, 165 lbs. The compression liner is good enough meaning it fits snug and maybe even a tad snugger at the bottom inch where there is cross stitching. Yet, it’s not super compressive. Perhaps it could be if you had very large thighs. Overall, I like the blue and yellowish green color scheme. The vent holes show the liner through it but they are small holes. The pocket for phone or ID in the compression liner is a nice touch. It fit my iphone 15 Pro Max just fine but don’t think I’ll be using it for that. It also has a loop on back left for a small towel or maybe to string your shirt through it if you are outside running in the heat. The two side pockets and rear zip pocket is also handy to have. The outer layer reminds me of tent material for some reason and kind of makes noise like it would if you ran your hand alongside of a camping tent. Weird description but not sure how else to describe it. Overall, I like these shorts. They are a bit different from any of the other pairs of shorts I own.

Woman here. I lift regularly, workout 4x a week. Athletic build. Coaching my daughter’s softball team so I wanted shorts I could be active in without the thigh rub. Women’s shorts are either too short or too long. These were the perfect length without looking frumpy. I wear a women’s size 14 in pants, usually a L in leggings and bought a Large in these thinking mens sizing would allow for a comfortable fit. WRONG. They got on but we’re very snug and unflattering, had to go up to an XL for theright fit. I realize these are for men but the shorts and styles are cool and I appreciate the just right length, so I hope the athletic ladies can get in on these cool shorts too.

I got these for use running outside. Overall they’re good shorts that I’ll likely keep wearing.
They fit well. The liner is indeed a compression fit but pretty stretchy. If you’re not into a super-tight fit, size up. I did this and they fit fine, maybe a little big, but the compression is forgiving in either direction.
In terms of pockets, the zippered pocket I found useless because it flops around so much. It’s a big pocket on the loose part of the shorts, so when running anything in there hit me in the leg every stride, which I found very uncomfortable. This type of pocket would work better right under the waist band at the back of the short, where it won’t swing around as much. There is a phone pocket in the compression portion that works well for me (fits a Pixel 6) and I imagine would also fit a slightly large phone too. In addition to that, there are two hand-pockets that each have a little sub-pocket to prevent coins or keys from jingling.
I got a black/pink design and aesthetically, I found the mesh design is kind of weird. With the light liner and dark shorts, it almost has a nude effect through the mesh. This isn’t an issue if you have a darker complexion, or get one of the non-pink liner colors.
The materials used also felt a little sub-par to me. The liner is comfortable, but the outer mesh feels too stiff–almost like swim trunks material. They’re lightweight and comfortable though, good for running.

Upon receiving the maamgic Men’s Running Shorts with Compression Liner, my initial impressions were mixed. While the construction appeared solid and durable, there were some notable aspects that left me somewhat disappointed.
Firstly, let’s address the color. I opted for the blue and yellow variant, expecting a color scheme reminiscent of the UCLA Bruins. However, upon arrival, I was surprised to find that the yellow hue was more akin to green, resembling the colors of the Seattle Seahawks rather than the anticipated UCLA palette. This discrepancy may not be a deal-breaker for some, but it’s worth noting for those particular about color accuracy.
In terms of construction, the shorts are well-made, with no visible weak seams or stitching issues. However, I encountered sizing discrepancies that proved to be problematic. While I always wear a medium in running shorts, I found the maamgic shorts to run smaller than expected. As a result, I would recommend sizing up, especially if you prefer a more comfortable fit, particularly around the inseam.
One of the most significant drawbacks of these shorts is the noise level. Surprisingly, the material used in the shorts generates a considerable amount of noise when walking or moving. It’s a peculiar issue that I haven’t encountered with other athletic apparel. The loudness of the material was so noticeable that it detracted from the overall wearing experience. I haven’t experienced anything like this since I was a small child wearing corduroy. While the durability of the material may be a contributing factor to this noise, it’s a trade-off that potential buyers should consider carefully.
Despite these drawbacks, the shorts perform adequately during workouts and runs. The compression liner provides adequate support, and the quick-dry fabric is ideal for intense physical activity. However, the excessive noise generated by the material may be a deterrent for some users, especially those who prefer a quieter wearing experience.
The maamgic Men’s Running Shorts with Compression Liner offer a mixed bag of features. While the construction is solid and the quick-dry fabric is suitable for athletic use, the sizing discrepancies and excessive noise level are notable drawbacks. If you can overlook these issues, these shorts may serve you well for casual workouts or runs. However, for those seeking a more comfortable and quieter wearing experience, it may be worth exploring other options.
