Description

  • LARGE REFLECTIVE AREA: Our large reflective surface area greatly increases visibility versus competing bands which have a small amount of reflective material because it is expensive. The bands are very bright, 360 degrees, and visible from at least 1,000 feet (305m) when light is reflected. Sold in a 2 or 4 band option.
  • HIGH-QUALITY: Made with 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material, a thin layer of neoprene, premium hook & loop fastener straps, and strong stitching.
  • COMFORTABLE: Made with a nylon exterior that is soft and will not irritate or scratch your skin. Featured in: Bicycle Quarterly, Bike Commuters, Campfire Cycling, Brit + Co, The Cycle, and Adventure Cycling.
  • USED FOR: Biking, Running, and Walking. Protects cyclist’s pants from bike chain and stays in place and is secure unlike other straps/clips that slip down or come apart.
  • FITS MOST ADULTS: Fits ankle sizes between 7.5-12.5 inches (19-32cm) in circumference, not including pants. If you have large ankles or plan to wear heavy/multiple layers, the ankle bands may be too short, please measure beforehand.

  1. Amazonian

Bought these because i walk and jog in poor light, often in the early morning or evening.

    The good:

These bands are functional in that they do reflect a good amount of light back to the source.
They are easy enough to put on and take off, and the velcro sticks appropriately.

    The bad:

I own a pair of new balance bands with genuine 3M fabric. They are almost 5 *TIMES* brighter in terms of capturing light and returning it to the source. These work, but not nearly as well.

The size and adhesion of the bands is inconsistent, and they must be ‘tightened down’ pretty good or else they come loose while running.

  2. The Critic

I am a 6’ male. Not overweight. These did not make it around my leg. I bought them to hold my pants away from my bike chain. They were not long enough. Measure carefully before you buy. Also mine was 14” shorter than the description. Great reflecter nice quality just not long enough for my leg and my pants.

  3. careful buyer

These have fulfilled their purpose and more. I selected these as my first piece of visibility gear, and wear them for running and walking at night. I wanted something removable that I could wear with any jacket and it had to be effective. I considered others that involved bright colors as well, but along the way I realized that I just wanted the reflective part (for fashion reasons as well as functionality) and found these. The product pictures sold me, and I can confirm their real-life potential. As reported by everyone else, they are super-bright when lit up by headlights; the reflectivity and surface area are spot-on. It’s pretty great the first time you wear them and all of a sudden cars give you a lot of room and consideration!
I am small, but wanted these for wearing over jackets. I was prepared to repurpose these if the fitment didn’t work out for me. The length of the ankle bands fit the bill and more. I wear these around my upper arms (over winter layers) without issue, and they also fit without layers. They also fit me around ankle and knee for biking without my pant leg rolled up (their intended purpose). If I wanted to wear them around my wrists (I don’t especially), I could even add more velcro elements (they make a wristband size as well). These bands have a comfortable amount of stretch that grips without being too uncomfortably restrictive. I have noticed that the reflective surface is cracked from being stretched to fit (this happened right away) but hasn’t flaked off, which I was concerned about a year ago (when they were new) but not so much a year later. So far, I have refrained from washing them and they have a few smudges that I would rather live with than mess with. Looking at them now, I guess I can vouch for them working even when dirty (they deserve a wash, though).

I often have these bands in my pocket and pop them on if I’m caught out after dark. I also have blinky l.e.d. armbands because I thought they’d be more attention-grabbing without the need for headlights (or whatever) to hit them (I decided this once I started biking). The blinkers do achieve what I wanted, with the limitations of being useless in daylight and annoying me to death, even when worn pointing backward. The end result is that I often wear an owl band on one arm and a l.e.d. blinking band on the other. I turn on the blinker when I’m around car traffic, then turn it off once I’m less in harm’s way (the bike path, track, quiet neighborhood etc) and let the owl band do the work, leaving me in peace. In short, these bands are exactly what I was looking for at an attractive price. All around, the owl bands are more utilitarian for me than the l.e.d. bands (though I do use both). These are worth every penny and I would not hesitate to replace them if needed.

If you’re in the market for something like this, I think that you’ve found the best reflectivity for your buck. There are no downsides to the investment, just take a tape measure and pick your size.

  4. Poncho

Simple and well constructed. I bought the Ankle Size and they fit perfectly for me (5-11 & 154 lbs) over jeans and road cycling full length winter bibs—I don’t even know they are on. Also, they fit well on my petite wife. Good value!

  5. L.Mc

I run and walk at night and needed a reflective band for my ankles. I wasn’t sure if the size would fit me correctly so I also ordered the reflective wrist bands as well. While the wrist band wraps around my ankle, it leaves some velcro exposed because it doesn’t wrap all the way around. The ankle bands, however, is long enough to leave no velcro exposed which is perfect! I was planning on returning the pair of reflective bands that doesn’t fit my ankles correctly but I decided to keep the wrist bands as well as they fit perfectly around my wrist.
As you can see from the pictures I posted, they’re very reflective in the dark. I’ve got two other reflective waist belts next to it for comparison. What I like about these ankle and wrist bands is that the reflective strip is wide which occupies the majority of the band. Also, I do like the black color in combination with the reflective strip. The neoprene on the inside is also comfortable and soft. I’d definitely recommend getting these bands for your safety.

  6. M.ª JESÚS

  7. The Critic

It is easy to put on and peel off – very clean and bright, very visible, noticeable – light and easy to pack – I take it with me everywhere.

  8. MrS

This is a good ankle reflector for safe running at night. It is soft and the Velcro never touches your skin.

  9. Anon

Super bright super easy and durable.

  10. Amazonian

I’ve been using these almost daily for two years and they are still holding up very well.

They also still look fairly clean even though I’ve never actually cleaned them. The reflective surface seems to repel dirt very well and this keeps them looking pretty sharp.

Measuring over my pant leg my ankle measures about 11 inches in circumference, and these reflectors easily fit me with room to spare.

I tried several different brands of ankle reflectors, and these are far superior to the others I’ve used. Money well spent.

  11. Rezensorist

Very pleased with these ankle bands. They are sturdily built yet very light, soft and comfortable to wear. Their considerable width provides a huge reflective area (they are black inside – if you wanted to wear them inside out). Have worn mine for a daily commute for about 5 months now and the velcro fastenings are still secure (I’ve found other brands come unstitched quite quickly). The velcro fastenings are about 9cm long so can accommodate narrow ankles or flared trousers (I’m not ashamed to wear them!). Mislaid my ankle bands for a day and missed them so much I ordered a second pair as a back-up. Highly recommended.

  12. Nightsedge

  13. Nate

Las mejores tobilleras que he usado. Se sujetan muy bien y son muy reflectantes. Las compré a principios de año, las uso todos los días y el material resiste muy bien.
